Welcome!
Dear Visitor:
On behalf of the Bishop of Rochester, Matthew H. Clark, DD, the Vocation Coordinating Committee, and the residence of Becket I would like to welcome you to Becket Hall!
Becket Hall was founded in 1965 by the Most Rev. James E. Kearney, the fifth Bishop of Rochester, at 1475 East Avenue as a residence for college seminarians studying at St. John Fisher College. The First Rector was Rev. Monsignor Joseph Hogan oversaw the construction of the new Becket Hall on the campus of Fisher. While the location of Becket has changed over the years, our goal is the same, to be a place of prayer, fellowship, learning and service. Our residents, the students of Becket Hall, spend one year here while fulfilling the necessary prerequisites for seminary. Over the years the prevailing hope is that each student realize whether or not God is calling him onto seminary.
No matter if you are here to visit a member of the Becket community or for a discernment event I am pleased that you have visited us.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and all those considering the Priesthood!
In Christ,
Rev. William G. Coffas
